Francoise Issaly
Francoise Issaly is a multi-disciplinary artist and writer.
Graduated from University Paul Valery in Montpellier, and University Michel de Montaigne in Bordeaux, France, where she obtained a DEUG in Plastic Arts, a Licence and a Master’s in visual arts, followed by a D.E.A. in with a mention in “Communication, Arts & Spectacle”, Françoise Issaly did 3 years of research for her Ph.D. before moving to Canada in 1993.
Her works explores the question of identity within the context of global culture, and search for meaning though the use of patterns and serial work. Primarily a painter, she also creates sculptures, photos, videos, and poetry.
Her work was exhibited both in solo and group shows in Canada, USA as well as in France, Germany, Malaysia, Thailand, S. Korea and China. Her art can be found in many private collections (Germany, France, Spain, UK, USA, China and Canada) and is represented by FortuneLink in Ontario, Canada, Galerie Uno in Quebec city, Galerie Holarte for China.
Over the years, she was invited to participate in several artists residencies such as The Vermont Studio Centre (2014), the Chinese European Art Center (2015), Untitled residency (2019), Swatch Art Peace Hotel Residency (2022) in Shanghai and more recently the Gushul Residency (2023) in Alberta, Canada.
